This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to drive meaningful changes in the waste industry and build a legacy of sustainability.In the role of Environmental/Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to: Design and plan production of general civil work related to environmental and solid waste industry infrastructure projects within our resources business group, including planning, site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activitiesPrepare technical reports, memorandums and other project documentsPrepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, specifications and contract documents for public entity projectsPerform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and proceduresMake decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as neededFunction as a Lead Design Engineer or Project Manager on mid-size projects as neededMentor a small staff of professionals and technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications A minimum of 4 years' experience designing and creating plans and specifications for solid waste engineering projects, such as landfill or facility design and implementationProficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS experienceQualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementation Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
